The Athens Double-Barreled Cannon was designed by John Gilleland of Athens, Georgia, and cast at the Athens Steam Company in 1862. The cannon, conceived as an anti-personnel weapon, was intended to fire two cannonballs connected by a chain. - Local Identifier:
