- This was Atlanta's first really ambitious postoffice building. Afterward it became the City Hall. Now it is being torn down to make room for a huge office building to be erected by the Dinkler interests.

The U.S. Post Office and Custom House was located on the block bounded by Fairlie Street, Marietta Street, Forsyth Street and an alleyway in Atlanta, Georgia. It was built in 1878 under the supervision of Thomas G. Healey and functioned as the city’s post office until 1911. It then served as Atlanta City Hall until 1930 when the building was demolished. - Local Identifier:
