Thomas Edward Watson (1856–1922) was an American politician, newspaper editor, and writer from Georgia. He was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 1882, the U.S. House of Representatives in 1890, and the U.S. Senate in 1920, where he served for only a short time before his death. He was the nominee for vice president with William Jennings Bryan in 1896 on the Populist ticket. - Local Identifier:
