The Georgia land lottery of 1827 was an early nineteenth century system of land distribution in Coweta, Lee, Muscogee and Troup Counties in Georgia that allowed citizens to register for a chance to win land lots of 202.5 acres that had formerly belonged to the Creek Indians and the Cherokee Nation. - Local Identifier:
