- "The little darkey is the fifth generation that had been in the family. Her great, great grandmother was my father's nurse and she nursed two generations, ten of my grandmother's children of which my father was the eldest and my Aunt Kate of Sumpter, SC, the youngest, and six of us, my sister, Kate May being the youngest. The little darkey is now a college graduate, her name is Selia, her mother's is also Selia. She is in the picture, the cook, holding the pot. Her grandmother's name was Binah, her great grandmother's Katie and her great great grandmother, our old nurse, Binah, our pet name for her, Nina." -Isabel Boyd
