This, the 1951 Yonahian, is gratefully dedicated to Tim W.
Holbrook, the college chaplain and professor of religion.
His gentle spirit of kindness and helpfulness, coupled with
a quick sense of humor, has made these last few years
truly memorable ones for those of us who have known
and respected him. His is a character to be admired and
patterned after by an\ Piedmont student.

"Do you remember when?" These are words repeated
again and again when old friends get together. These will
be your words, too, when in future years you meet those
who were your friends at Piedmont.
This book will help you keep the memories of happy,
busy days among the friends at college. Whether future
days be dark or bright these memories will be an ever
present source of comfort and delight.
College years are rich years, indeed! They are rich in
work and play and worship. They are the years of growth
and change. They mark the great transition from timid,
little freshmen to mature, adult alumni. They are years
worthy of remembrance! May the pages of this book
preserve rich memories for you. everyone.

J. S. GREEN LITERARY SOCIETY
The J. S. Green Literary Society for boys, active since the early days of Piedmont
College, plays an important part in the campus life of many of the students. Co-
sponsored by Prof. H. E. Bowen and Coach O'Neal Cave, the group with its
variety of activities continually strengthens the ties between students, faculty, and
'ulministration which therefore helps to make Piedmont the school that it is.

PROTROPIAN LITERARY SOCIETY
MOTTO
"Knowledge is Power"'
The Protropian Society has just completed 54 years as an active literary and social
organization on the campus of Piedmont College. Throughout the years the society has
advocated clean living and helped develop strong character and friendship for those men
who have taken advantage of the opportunity it afforded.
The Protropians have had interesting programs and speakers on the regular meeting
night. The society also sponsored other activities for the enjoyment of the college.
The Protropians adopted a new constitution. This Constitution covers many provisions
that the old one did not, and as a result we have a stronger and more adequate society.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Francis C. Cook, our faculty sponsor,
for his very valuable assistance; also to those who helped make this year one of enjoy-
merit
