- 1864 Report of the Committee on Renting of Buildings to the Columbia Theological Seminary Board of Directors concerning the renting of rooms to refugees during the Civil War, composed and submitted by George Howe. Howe discusses the occupation and use of various seminary rooms upon the occasion that the government resolved to use all the buildings for a hospital, including Law Hall as housing for refugees, a room housing the Committee of Foreign and Domestic Missions, and the chapel as a location for the Ladies Society to provide relief to soldiers, [Columbia (S.C.)], April 30, 1864.
