- Description:
- Letter from Augustine T. Smythe to Mrs. Jas. [Felixina] Woodrow informing her of his acquaintance with R. W. Henry in Glasgow and that he has enclosed letters he has received from R. W. Henry that relate to the Woodrow family, Charleston (S.C.), March 16, 1910. Letter from R. W. Henry to Smythe enclosing the 1836 letter from Thomas Woodrow to his father-in-law, Robert Williamson, reporting on the death of his wife [Letter of Thomas Woodrow, Sr. to Robert Williamson, New York (N.Y.), February 23, 1836]. He writes that ‘apart from the element of personal interest in the letter, it gives a vivid idea of the extraordinary change that has taken place in Atlantic navigation in 70 years.’ Henry discusses politics in Scotland, his recent travels, his hope to have gone to the [6th 1910] World's Sunday-School Convention in Washington [D.C.], and asks Smythe if he is attending the June 1910 World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh. Glasgow (Scotland), February 26, 1910.
