- Letter from Charlotte Baker to [her brother-in-law] Artemas Baker concerning neglect family members have made in not writing to Artemas, the recent move and purchase of a house with 400 acres she and her husband have made and that Richard and his family are living with them, discusses her husband’s pastoral work [at First Presbyterian Church (Milledgeville, Ga.)], tension between Mr. [Samuel Jones] Cassels and his wife Sarah in Macon, Ga., hopes Artemas could visit and hope he marries, mentions they are considering moving to Florida, Baker’s Mount [Milledgeville (Ga.)], July 9, 1840.
