- Description:
- Manuscript sermon written by John N. Waddel, delivered at First Presbyterian Church (Oxford, Miss.), September 10, 1871 and again at Hopewell Presbyterian Church (Oxford, Miss.) October 29, 1871. In this sermon Waddel outlines two truths in our relationship to God: that we are aware of only a small portion of our sins and that we forget sins we knew of in the past, but that God sees and remembers them all. He goes on to illustrate by example some of these hidden sins which, he says, effect even the pious, and then lists the ways in which one can cleanse him or herself of them. Sermon on Psalm 19:12.
