- Description:
- Manuscript sermon by John N. Waddel, date and place of origin unknown. In this sermon Waddel he describes the "rest" promised by God to his people. He begins by recounting Paul's preaching of this belief to the Sadducees and then goes on to describe in detail what this rest is. He describes it as a double rest, one here on earth and of time and a second in heaven and of eternity. Finally, he describes in detail the negative aspects which this eternal rest frees one from and the positive aspects which it allows one to experience. Sermon on Hebrews 4:9.
