- Description:
- Manuscript sermon of Joseph Ruggles Wilson, originally delivered at First Presbyterian Church (Wilmington, N.C.), October 1881 and again at First Presbyterian Church (Clarksville, Tenn.) on July 11, 1886, on the nature of trust. Wilson explains how confidence and trust in men is fine, society would fail without it, but shows how that trust can never be perfect as no man can ever fulfill another's needs completely. He then describes how perfect trust in God is possible and indeed the only way to true happiness. Sermon on Psalm 118:8, 9.
