- Description:
- President Woodrow Wilson had blood ties to CTS—his father, Joseph Ruggles Wilson, taught homiletics and pastoral theology at CTS from 1870 to 1874. While no reason is detailed in this letter, it is clear that Woodrow Wilson had no intention of visiting CTS at the time of writing, whatever Whaling's attempts at persuasion. Later the same year, Wilson would travel to Columbia, South Carolina, for his sister's funeral. During that trip, he would briefly visit the chapel at CTS
