- Manuscript sermon by Robert Zenas Johnston concerning the nature of saving faith with discussion of the conversion of the jailer at Philippi under the ministry of the Apostle Paul and Silas as a primary example. This sermon was completed January 15, 1864, a month and a half after President Abraham Lincoln issued his Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction. This sermon was delivered at Providence Presbyterian Church (Charlotte, N.C.), January 16, 1864, and again at Sharon Presbyterian Church (Charlotte, N.C.), February 28, 1864.
