- Description:
- Manuscript of a sermon by James Henley Thornwell originally delivered at the [59th (Old School)] Presbyterian Church U.S.A. General Assembly, Richmond, VA, May 26, 1847. Sermon on Acts 19:29. Handwritten notes in pencil likely from John B. Adger with the intention of including a version of the text in the Collected Writings of James Henley Thornwell. There is a transcribed second copy nearly identical in content but not handwritten by Thornwell. The texts are separated by “Note by Editor” page. It is noted by Adger that Thornwell changed his views from the time of the original delivery to when the manuscript was composed.
