- Description:
- Sermon written by Reverend Henry Newton on the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Newton begins by describing how Jesus's disciples felt knowing that their savior would be taken from them and how Jesus explained to them that in his absence another comforter would appear, the Holy Spirit. Newton then describes in detail three main points: that Jesus's absence was necessary for the advent of the Holy Spirit, that the precence of the Holy Spirit compensates for the abscence of Jesus, and that it was expedient therefore that Jesus should go away.
