The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia fully accepted a gift of land for a permanent Camden Residence Center in Camden County. In spring 1996 the Coastal Georgia Community College P-16 Council was organized as a sub-unit of the Armstrong Atlantic State University regional P-16 Council. The College participated with Glynn, Mclntosh, and Camden counties in developing tech prep agreements which are designed to smooth the transition from high school vocational programs into post-secondary technical programs.The president was directly involved in establishing the first Academic All-American recognition program for Georgia students who had been nominated for the Gannett Foundation/USA Today sponsored Academic All-American competition.Full implementation of the new Student Information System BANNER has proceeded during this year.Actual work on the renovation of the Academic Building began in late April 1997.
