- Part of home brought by ox-cart 7 miles and added by Dr. Fielding Ficklen to original house. Mrs. Jefferson Davis guest in home in May 1865. Dr. J. P. Boyce, founder of Southern Baptist Seminary married in home in 1848 to Elizabeth Ficklen.
