- Description:
- Built in 1815 by Isaiah Davenport, Master Builder. This imposing structure ranks among the great Georgian Houses of America, having been so recognized by our government, where measured drawings of the house are on file at the Library of Congress. The house is noted for its fine proportions, delicate iron work, its elliptical stairway and handsome plasterwork. The drawing room with its eighteen-branch crystal chandelier, is considered one of the most beautiful in Savannah. This is headquarters of historic Savannah Foundation, Inc.
