- Description:
- Tybee Island, the seaside resort for Savannah and Georgians generally, is reached after a forty minutes pleasant ride. Many memories of an historic nature cluster about the island. In the Journal of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, appears this paragraph, under date of February 5, 1736: We cast anchor near Tybee Island, where groves of pines running along the shore made an agreeable prospect, showing, as it were, the bloom of spring in the depth of winter.
