- Archie Butt Memorial Bridge, Augusta, Ga. This beautiful bridge was erected to the memory of Major Archibald Butt, who while military aide of Pres. Taft, heroically gave up his life in the Titanic disaster in saving the lives of women and children. Major Butt was born and raised in Augusta and his untimely death was mourned by an entire nation.
