The Etowah Infantry, formed in April 1860, adopted twenty-two rules covering the number of commissioned and non-commissioned officers in the company, their duties, uniforms, elections, admissions, resignations, parades, fines, courts-martial, prize fighting, funeral honors, and changes of residence, among other matters. Included is a roster of the company members. In March 1861, the company became Company E of the 1st Confederate Battalion, Infantry, and then Company E, 1st Confederate Regiment, Infantry. - Metadata URL:
