Book includes hospital listings for every hospital in Atlanta with names of soldiers who died in each hospital in chronological order; a name index to the hospital listings; cemetery plat listings; listings by block and row number of soldiers buried in the cemetery in 1884; maps of blocks and rows corresponding with the 1884 cemetery layout; and a history of the Atlanta Memorial Association. The cemetery sexton apparently fled the city on July 5th, 1864, before the fiercest fighting around Atlanta, which culminated with Federal troops occupying the city on September 1st. The many burials between July 5th and September 1st are not recorded in this volume, and some of the soldiers listed in the volume were subsequently moved to new burial locations and the cemetery layout changed.
