- Description:
- In 1932, Fulton County merged with Campbell County to the south and Milton County to the north. This consolidation was a direct result of the Great Depression's effect on the rural counties. As a result Fulton County's school system began operating the schools in those areas; and as a first measure of this operation, teachers who had taught in Campbell and Milton schools had to apply for positions in the county that inherited them. Ms. N.H. Broadwell, from Alpharetta (in former Milton Co.) was among them.
