Lila attended the Evans County Public Schools where she graduated from Evans
High School in 1970. She pursued a higher education at Savannah State College,
where she received her Pachehr of Science deg-ee in Early Childhood Education.
Ella joined the Mt. Pleasant Paptist Church at an early age. After she received her

was an active member until illness fell upon her.
Ella was employed by the Pachmond County School District retiring after loving
caring teaching and preparing her little ones for the next levelfor over 25 years. She
invested in her students' academic achievement as well as their personalgowth and
success. We believe her motto was I shall pass through this world but once. Any good
therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being let me do
it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, fori shall not pass this way again."
Ella after moving to Augusta, Ga met the love of her life Willie Winfrey. They were
joined together in marriage January 2, 1992, celebrating 25 years of love and supprort.
She was outgoing and enjoyed life to itsfullest with a sense of humor and a deep
