Thomas Joseph Carlton was born on July 2, 1936 in Daisy,
GA, to the late Eddie & Gertie Carlton. He was the baby out
of eleven children. Thomas attended Evans County School
where he played basketball.
Thomas served his country in the U.S. Army. He met and
married his wife of 58 years, Lettie R. Green-Carlton. The
couple were proud parents of two children. He was employed
with Local 235 Construction Site for 34 years.
He was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
He was full of life and a devout husband, father, grandfather,
and great-grandfather.
On Thursday, March 17, 2016, Thomas Joseph Carlton
transitioned from this life to be with the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 58years, Lettie
R. Carlton; one sister, Lauraetta Brewton of Daisy, GA; two
daughters, Doris J. Carlton of Atlanta, GA and Deborah A.
Thomas (Clarence) of Germantown, MD; one son, Thomas
J. Carlton, Jr. (Shirley) of Orlando, EL; five grandchildren,
Chamyca, Donte, Corey, Dante, and Rashida; two great-
grands, Tamora, Amayah and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
