Our beloved Shannon was bom to the parents of
Clara Hagins Ford and Ronald Mikel on November
16, 1976 in Statesboro, GA and on Monday, May
4th our sweet Shannon was softly went home to be
the Lord. Shannon was an exceptional young lady
she was smart, determined, a non-stop leader who
wouldnt let nothing or anything get in her way. In
1995 she graduated from Jenkins County High
School, went on to further her education by eiuolling
into West Georgia University in Carrolton, GA, then
later. East Georgia College in Swainsboro, GA; she
graduated from Georgia Southern University with a
Bachelor Degree in Justice Studies, Minor in Sociol-
ogy. She later attainted her Masters Degree in Public
Administration with Emphasis in Public Manage-
ment from Strayer University from the Savannah
State Campus.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she
served on the Program Committee, sang in the Choir
of Voices of Inspiration, the Chairperson of the Fifth
Sunday Service Program; also was the Chairperson
of the Jewels Women Ministry at First Baptist
Church.
Shannon is a member of the Statesboro Alumnae
Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, where she was cur-
rently the Chapter Vice-President. Shannon was
busy and she did a remarkable job no matter what the
task, she gave it her all. She served as Facilitator
Conners Place Family Violence Intervention Pro-
gram in Statesboro, Georgia. This was a phenomenal
Young Woman who will truly be missed.
Shannon leaves a light to carry for her in the heart of:

(Bonita) Mikel; sisters, Charron Mikel (Jerime Dix-
on), Lashika (Gary) Carter; grandmother, Mrs.
Frances Handberry (Big Ma); niece, Jada Jackson
(Boo) and Nephew, Adrene Jackson (Man), Christian
Carter; aunts, Nelva Hagins, Doris Tomlin; uncle,
Franklyn (Melba) Hagins; special cousins, Dexter
Hagins, Franklin Hagins and James Hagins and Ryan
Tomlin; her god-son. Sage Reese and a host of other
uncles, aunts, cousins and special fnends and family.
