Reflections of Francinas Life....
Francina Davis claimed her eternal reward at the age of 95. She
was bom April 11, 1919 to Burl Champion and Margaret
Champion of Sparta, Georgia. Francina was forth of five
daughters. She was married to John Henry Davis, who preeeded
her in death in 1965. Francina was a loving and devoted Christian.
Neither this long day nor these short pages are suffieient to
describe a life as full and rich as that of Francina Davis. She was
at first, a loving daughter and devoted sister, who matured into a
faithful wife, and adoring mother. In later years she became a
doting and indulgent grandmother and great grandmother. The
story of her life is our History and our lives are her Legacy.
Despite the challenges of motherhood, marriage, inequality of the
South, rearing (raising) four daughters and seven boys. Mother
never gave up her dream that each one of her children would earn a
High School Diploma and attend an Institution of higher education.
During the remaining years of her life, mother was blessed to
watch her grandchildren grow up. After years of stressing the
importance of education, her efforts paid off. All of her children
and grandchildren graduated from high sehool and many of them
went on to college and graduated from college.
On May 28, 2014, with devoted family members near her bedside,
Francine Davis entered eternal rest. Although we are saddened to
see her go, we can find solace in knowing that if we live our lives
as she taught us, we will indeed see her again.
Francina was preceded in death by both of her parents Burl and
Margaret Champion; her daughters, Mary Champion, Ruby Dixon
and JoAnn Davis; her son, William (Yoke) Davis; her sisters, Lillar
Shorter, Beatrice West, Allie Charlton, Ethel Speneer; her brothers,
Marvin, Huer and Lindsey Champion.
She leaves to cherish precious and loving memories: her
daughters, Annie Ruth Collins and Alice Mae King {Junior) of
Claxton, Georgia; her sons, Reginald Davis of Claxton, Georgia,
Ernest Davis (Michelle) of Orlando, Florida, George Davis of
Augusta, Georgia, Harper Davis of Orlando, Florida, John H.
Davis {Beverly) of Columbus, Georgia, Davell Davis of Orlando,
Florida; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces
nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The Dash
I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of his friend
He referred to the dates on his tombstone
from the beginning ... to the end.
He noted that first came the date of his birth
and spoke the following dates with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For the dash represents all the time
that they spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved them
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we o
the cars ... the houses... .the cash.'
What matters is how we live and lov
and how we spend our dash,
God didn't promise days without pain
laughter without sorrow, sun without rain,
but He did promise strength for the day,
comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

When tomorrow starts without me, and Im not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today.
While thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand.
That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready, in heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye.
For all my life. I'd always thought, I didn't want to die.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
And when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from His
Great Golden Throne.
He said, this is eternity and all I promised you.
Today your life on earth is passed, but here life starts anew.
You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you
Shouldnt do. But you have been forgiven and now at last youre
free.
So wont you come and take my hand and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, dont think were far apart.
For every time you think of me. Im right here in your heart.
