Walter Holland, Jr. was born December 31, 1943 in Evans
County, Georgia to the late Walter Sr. and Broteen Holland. He was
a 1964 graduate of Evans Co. High School. He was a member of the
1964 Evans County Longhorn Championship football team.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Joyce McClennon
Holland. To this union three children were born.
Walter, Dub as he was known by everyone, was a joy to be around.
He worked for Blues Furniture Store. He was an EMT/Orderly at
Evans Memorial Hospital. He was also employed at the Regional
Youth Detention Center in Hagan, Georgia where he touched the
lives of many youth.
Dub leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Angela (William)
Hawkins of Claxton, GA; two sons, Michael Holland of Claxton,
GA and Tremayne Holland (Danielle) of Oak Harbor, Washington.
One granddaughter, Chelsie Holland of Lafayette, LA. Three broth-
ers: Clarence Holland (May Dell) of Savannah, GA, Gary Holland
(Diane), and Gilbert (Linda) Holland of Conyers, GA. Four sisters:
Betty Woodley of Claxton, GA; Annette Kilcrease of Midlothian,
VA; MaRetha (William) Lindsey of Port Lucie, FL; and Bridgette
(David) King of Chesterfield, VA. Four sisters-in-law: Joann (James)
Holloway of Newark, NJ; Betty Williams of Claxton, GA; DeLoris
Jones of Piscataway, NJ; and Reedell McClennon of Claxton, GA.
One uncle. Coy Mincey of Patterson, NJ; one aunt, Vernease Johnson
of Glennville, GA; and a friend Vera Mae Berry.
