obituary
Mr. William Shorty James Mainer, Jr. was bom Febmary 14,1957
to Mr. William J. Mainer, Sr. and Milfred E. Mainer, in Daisy, GA.
He departed his life on March 24, 2013 after a short battle with lung
cancer.
Shorty grew up in Daisy, GA and went to Evans Co. Schools where he
played football, basketball and baseball and as he would say, I was
pretty good at it too.
In the early part of his adult life. Shorty moved to Miami, FL., where
he worked in pest control. He later moved back to Claxton where he
was taught concrete finishing by the late Mr. Kaiser McNeal. He
mastered the art of finishing concrete and was well known for his
outstanding workmanship. He worked until his health failed, but his
humor never faded and it will live on in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Versie Blake and
Brother Edward Mainer.
He leaves many to cherish his life and remember his funny stories.
His parents William J. Mainer, Sr. and Mildred Mainer both of
Claxton, GA. Two sons, Christopher Mainer of Olive Branch, MS,
Rashon Mainer of Claxton, GA. Four sisters, Margie Ihaza (Alex),
Denise, Judy and Diane Mainer of Claxton, GA. Two brothers,
Lawrence and Lorin Mainer of Claxton, GA. One Aunt Annette
Moore of Claxton, GA. One sister-in-law Anna Mainer of Atlanta,
GA. Six grandchildren, Alex, Tyson, Chris Jr., Diamond and
Demtrius. A special friend Johnny Mae Butler. A godson, Anthony
Goodman and a special nephew, Lamar Bames. Special thanks to Mae
Judy Jones for being there during his illness.
