righteous judge, shall ^ve me at that day; and not to me only, hut unto all them also that
love His appearing.
Walter Holland was born June 9, 1916 to the late James & Willie Bell Holland in
Tattnall County, Georgia. He peaceiully departed this life Sunday, February 20,
2011 at his home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
He was educated in the Tattnall County Public School System. He was employed
with O.H. Daniel Lumber Company for over 55 years. He was joined in holy mat-
rimony to the late Broteen Mincey Holland on December 20, 1934, and to this
union, nine (9) children were born. One daughter, Bernice Martin preceded him in
death.
Dea. Walter Holland was a member of the United House of Prayer where he
served faithfully on the Deacon Board until his death. He also held the office of
Treasurer for many years. He was a 33rd Degree Gold Card Member of the St.
Joseph Lodge #76 in Claxton, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Four (4) sons: Walter Holland, Jr.,
Bellville, Georgia; Charles Holland (May Dell), Savannah, Georgia; Gary Holland
(Diane), Hagan, Georgia; Gilbert Holland (Linda) Conyers, Georgia. Four (4)
daughters: Betty Wadley, Claxton, Georgia; Annette Kilcrease (Charles), Anevel,
New Jersey; Maretha Lindsay (William), St. Port Lucie, Florida; and Bridgette King
(David), Chesterfield, Virginia. An honorary son, Jtxseph Holiday, Claxton, Georgia;
a host of nieces, nephews and three devoted nieces: Willea.se Mills and Janice Palmer
of Claxton, Georgia, and Margaret Purduman of Collins, Georgia. Three sisters-in-
law: Vernice (Baser) Johnson, Glcnnville, Georgia; Mary Mincey, Brunswick,
Georgia; and Deloris Mincey, Pattenson, New Jensey; and one brother-in-law. Jay
Mincey, Patterson, New Jersey; twenty-three (23) grandchildren, twenty-seven (27)
great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
