Mallie Son Palmer was born April 14, 1815 in Claxton,
GA to the late Ivey Palmer and the late Bertha Wright Palmer.
He was joined in holy matrimony on May 13, 1935 to the late
Lollie Mincey Palmer. On November 27, 2008 at Candler
Hospital in Savannah, GA after a long-term illness, the Lord
called his faithful servant home for eternal rest.
He was a member of the Oak Grove A.M.E. Church,
where he served as a trustee. He was a member and a lead
singer of the Fellowship Gospel Singers for 35 years. He was a
charter member of the Gladiators Club, Inc. He worked at
Needer Construction as a backhoe operator for many years until
he retired at 65 year- old and then became self-employed with
lawn service. He served faithfully to all of his duties until his
health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted daughter,
Jannie Lou Palmer of Claxton, GA; nine brothers and eight
sisters; two special and devoted brothers, Roosevelt (Izetta)
Palmer and Ivey (OlaMae) Palmer both of Claxton, GA. He is
preceded in death by five brothers, David Palmer, Lonnie
Palmer, Leroy Palmer, Leman Palmer and Gerard Palmer.
Brothers-in-law, Coy (Deloris) Mincey of Paterson, New Jersey,
Walter Holland of Claxton, GA; sisters-in-law. Baser Johnson
of Claxton, GA, Austina Palmer of Teanech, New Jersey; two
very special and devoted nieces Kesheia Palmer and Amber
Brewton; a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-
nephews, countless cousins and many other family and friends.
