Elder Hiley Lee Moody was born September 17, 1959 in Claxton,
Georgia to the late Lonnie Brown and the late Mattie Bell Thomas of Daisy,
Georgia. He departed this life on Monday, October 13, 2008.
In 1979, he became a member of Holy Zion Holiness Church of
Twin City, GA and later joined Freddies Temple Holiness Church of Twin
City, GA. Mr. Moody sang in the choir and served as a deacon. As God
exalted him, Hiley became and served as a minister and then an elder in his
church. He was faithful to the end.
Hiley was united in Holy matrimony to Helen Ann Lockett and to
this union three children were born. One son preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Helen A. Moody of Metter,
GA; two daughters, Jessica Moody and Vanessa Moody both of Metter, GA;
one special grandchild, Calandra Wadley; twelve brothers, Elisha (Angela)
Moody of Memphis, TN, Quinton (Sedonia) Moody of Midville, GA, James
(Pat) Moody, Howard (Jennifer) Moody, Sammy (Donita) Moody, and Neal
(Jeannie) Brown all of Claxton, GA, Israel (Mary) Johnson of Darien, GA,
John (Virginia) Thomas and Wallace Brown both of Savannah, GA, Razzell
(Betty) Brown of Metter, GA, Johnny (Ida) Brown of Dublin, GA, and Robert
Brown of Miami, FL; nine sisters, Letha Floyd, Eva (Leroy) Burney, Vera
(James) Berry, Nellie (Ernest) Moreland, and Agnes (Archie) McNeal aU of
Claxton, GA, Isetta (Roosevelt) Palmer of Hagan, GA, Sandy Brown of
Statesboro, GA, Willie Mae (Ralph) Johnson of Miami, FL, and Linda Lucas
of Brunswick, GA; one uncle, J.C. Conner of Trenton, NJ; three aunts, Carrie
Bell Harris of Miami, FL, Christine Conner of Trenton, NJ, and Willie Pearl
Conner of Glennville, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
