Mr. Dewey Byrd was born in Evans

He was educated in the Evans County
School System, and played guard on the Longhorns

He left Claxton as a young man and soon
after reunited with his childhood sweetheart, the

York City and later married in Newark, New
Jersey, and formed a loving family union.
Mr. Byrd had a long successful career as a
truck driver for Walker, Inc. in New York City. He
loved to drive his truck and always had hilarious

decided to come home to Georgia in 2003for some
rest and relaxation.
