Obituary:
Lola Mae Ruffin Smith was born October 7, 1946 in Evans
County Georgia to Louise and Henry Ruffin.
Her battle of life was won on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the
Hospice Civic Center, Savannah, Georgia. She was a graduate of
Evans County High School, The Longhorns. She worked as a
short order cook for Tastee Freeze for a number of years. She was
a faithful member of Healing Temple Church until her health
declined.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted moth-
er, Mrs. Louise Ruffin of Claxton; four sisters: Ms. Luretha
McDonald of Brooklyn, New York, Ms. Jeanette Holiday of
Claxton, Mrs. Frances Johnson (Walter) of Claxton, Patricia
Youmans (Ernest) of Claxton, spiritual sister and teacher Dollie
(Edwards) Mozingo; 3 brothers: Rev. James Darrell Ruffin of
New Jersey, Mr. Gary Barnes of Virginia, Willie G. Plummer of
Savannah; and a host of loving and caring nieces and nephews,
devoted friends and other relatives.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy
staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
