Going Home Celebration
Mrs. Annie Lee Mikel Bacon was born on September 30,
1920. She departed this life on January 14, 2006 at Evans Memo-
rial Hospital. Mrs. Bacon was born to the late Mr. Jim and Mrs. Ge-
neva Mikel. This union produced eleven children, of which Annie
Lee was the tenth child.
At an early age, she joined Green Cypress Baptist Church,
where she attended regularly until her health failed her. She worked
dutifully as President and Treasurer of the Mission Department, as a
Sunday School Teacher, as Treasurer of the Christmas Savings
Club, and in the Church Food Service Department.
On April 1, 1940, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the
late William (Buddy) Bacon. To this union four children were born.
Annie Lee attended school in Evans County. Because of
other obligations, she only completed the eleventh grade, but she
was still a lady of great wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
Mrs. Annie Lee Bacon leaves to mourn her death a loving
and devoted family: one daughter, Mrs. Glenda B. Cooley (James)
of Claxton, Georgia; four sons: Mr. William Henry Bacon of Atlanta,
Georgia, Mr. John Winton Bacon (Elaine), Mr. Eugene Bacon, and
Mr. Dwight Bacon, all of Claxton, Georgia; one step-daughter, Ms.
Minnie Lee Robinson of New York; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mattox
Carter (Henry) of Claxton, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. J.C. Mikel of
Hagan, Georgia and Mr. Hubert Mikel (Lucille) of Bellville, Georgia;
two brothers-in-law: Mr. Charlie Blocker of Claxton, Georgia and Mr.
Landis Bacon of Bellville, Georgia; a very devoted and caring niece,
Ms. Dorothy M. Mikel; seven grandchildren, one of whom preceded
her in death, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-
grandchildren, and a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and friends.
A Tribute
when a face that is dear no longer is here, and a voice that we loved is hushed.
It seems as if time went too quickly, it seems as if things were too rushed.
But one hy one clearly recall the joys that were shared in them all.
We watched you struggle day after day. your body racked with pain.
Only the agony upon your face, revealed the stoiy plain.
When asked out of concern aboutyour health, your reply remained the same, I'm alright".
Dedication and devotion was your life, your strength and valor were unequaled.
You were God's number one soldier.

Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
Its all a part of the Masters plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the fnends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me But Let Me Go!
