Dea. Thomas McCray affectionately called Tim was bom April
18, 1936 to Mr. Powell McCray and Mrs. Beatrice Simmons
McCray in Daisy, Georgia. He was one of five children with two
preceding him in death. Tim was called to his eternal home on
Tuesday, July 11, 2000.
Tim attended the schools of Evans County and Evans County
High School. At an early age he became active in church
ministry. He united with St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.
Later in life he moved with his wife Diona Primous to New Jersey.
He united with New Zion Baptist Church in Elizabeth, New
Jersey. Tim was active in the church ministries but being a
Doorkeeper for the Lord was dear to his heart. After many years
he returned home to Daisy and reunited with St. Luke Baptist
Church. He continued working in church and community
activities. He was ordained a deacon at St. Luke Baptist Church in
1997.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Mrs. Willie Jane Jones
McCray of Daisy, GA; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Sparrow of
Nevils, GA; a sister, Ms. Bertha McCray of Brooklyn, NY; a
brother, Mr. Lee Artis McCray of Miami, FL; a sister-in-law, Mrs.
Mary Alice McCray of Miami, FL; an aunt, Mrs. Clara McCray of
Daisy, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing
praises unto thy name, O most high. To shew forth thy loving
kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
