She served and loved her Master and tried His will to do, was
always helping others and was patient, kind and true.
Catherine Everett Bacon the youngest child of the late Jasper and Trumilla Rivers
Everett was bom October 13, 1930 in Collins, Georgia. She departed this life Saturday, July
3, 1999 at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Charlton Grove Missionary Baptist
Church. She served as Mother of the Church, President of the Mission, Member of the Senior
Choir and assisted with the Nurses Aid Ministry at Jemsalem.
In July of 1951, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Ulysses Bacon. To this union
two children were bom, one preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bacon gave of her personal time to the Evans County American Cancer Society.
She was also a member of OES-Sweet Evening Breeze, Chapter 269.
She was employed for several years with the Claxton Manufacturing Company. She
was also employed by Liberty Manor - Food Services of Claxton.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Dea. Ulysses Bacon; a son, Loring
Bacon (Trennice) of Houston, TX; a granddaughter, Kara Bacon of Houston, TX; three sis-
ters; Maggie E. Brewton of Mt. Vernon, NY, Robertha E. Byrd of Claxton, GA and Ruby Dell
E. Backer (McKinley) of Claxton, GA; five brothers-in-law; Lorenzo Bacon (Bemease),
McKinley Baker, T. J. Mercer all of Claxton, GA, Earl Bacon of New Rochelle, NY, and J. D.
Brewton of Richmond, VA; other in-laws are: Ella Everett of New Rochelle, NY, and Sadie
Ruth Everett of Metter, GA; two godchildren: A1 Everett of Mt. Vernon, NY and Mrs. Gussie
Murphy of Savannah, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
