St. Ida Brown was born in Belleville, Georgia on January 8, 1940 to Cora
and the late Elder Ollie Mikell. As an infant she became a member of the
United House of Prayer For All People, as a teenager she served as a house
maid under the leadership of the founder Sweet Daddy Grace. She was
educated in Evans County Public Schools, Claxton, GA. She served as an
ambassador for eighteen years and worked faithfully to help in the upbuilding
of the organization, under the leaderships of Daddy McCollough and Daddy
Madison.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Sherman Brown on March 25, 1959.
To this union six children were born. The late Sherman Antonio Brown
and five daughters. She was employed at Freedom Electronics for twenty-
three years. She volunteered her services in the House of Prayer kitchen
until she became ill.
She departed this life May 18, 1998 at Faulkner Hospital. She leaves(|P|
cherish her memory, her husband Sherman, five daughters Cynthia, Sheila,
Karen, Katrina and Crystal Brown all of Boston, MA., twenty-five
grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, of Boston, MA., her mother
Cora Mikell, of Manassas, GA., three sisters, Faye and Brenda Mikell and
Janice Hatcher, all of Boston, MA., seven brothers, Ollie, Charles, Henry,
Lanice, Mikell, all of Boston, MA., Willie Mack Mikell of Statesboro, GA.,
Paul Mikell of Miami, FL., and Dennis Mikell of Kileen, TX., brothers-in-
law, sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A loving senant has returned to her father. Her purpose among us
complete. She touched our lives with the warmth of her soul.
Now she rest at her fathers feet.
