Sallie M, Stewart was born
May 5, 1927 in Screven County, GA to
the late Mrs. Cynthia Kirkland, and the
late Mr. William Telfair Kirkland.
A member of First African Baptist
Church for many years, she served as
an usher until her first bout of illness.
She was a fighter strong in faith, will
and spirit. Her battle of life was won
on April 7, 1998, at the Evans
Memorial Hospital, Claxton, GA. after
a brief stay at Claxton Nursing Home.
Those that hold her dear are her
husband, Mr. William Stewart^^elve
children, seven daughter-in-laws and
two son-in-laws: Mr. Howard
McFadden (Katie), Ms. Queen E.
Lundy (Edward) , Mr. Paul McFadden,
Mr. Samuel McFadden, Sr. (Juanita),
Mr. David McFadden (Lader), Mr.
Charles Stewart (Gwen), Mr. Willie
James Stewart (Cleo), Mr. Pearlie
Stewart, Ms. Mary L. Stewart Hayes
(Gregory), Mr. Gregory Stewart
(Linda), Mr. Alton Griffin (Melva), and
the late Mr. Vincent Stewart. One truly
devoted sister, Mrs. Thelma Joiner
Aunt Thelma; 35 grandchildren, 20
great-grandchildren; a host of
cousins, other relatives and friends.
