OBITUARY
Robert D. Jones, the son of the late Albert and
Ezia Jones, was born in Evans County, Claxton, Georgia
on September 25, 1934. He departed this life, Wednes-
day, April 17, 1996 at his home.
He was a member of Thomas Grove A. M. E. Church
of Claxton. He attended school in Evans County, Claxton,
Georgia. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean
Conflict, and he saw overseas duty.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers. Rev.
Lloyd Jones of Dublin, Georgia and Mr. Lee Jones of
Statesboro, Georgia: two sisters, Ms. Nita B. Baker and
Ms. Lueretha Tillmon, both of Claxton, Georgia; two sisters-
in-law, Ms. Thelma Jones and Ms. Wilmer Jones; two
brothers-in-law, the Rev. James Benjamin and Mr. David
Tillman, both of Claxton, Georgia several nieces, nephews,
and other relatives and friends.
Oh Freedom! Oh Freedom!
Oh Freedom, I Love Thee!
And before Ill be a slave
Ill be buried in my grave
And go home to my Lord and be Free!
