OBITUARY
Simmie Byrd was born August 21, 1912 in Candler
County to the late Mary and John Byrd. He departed this
life February 3,1994 in St. Josephs Hospital, Savannah,
Ga.
In 1941 he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rober-
tha Everett. He joined Sam Creek Baptist Church at an ear-
ly age. He was employed for 24 years at New Rochelle
Hospital, New Rochelle, New York. After moving to Clax-
ton, he was employed at Evans Memorial Hospital until
he retired. He was a member of Charlton Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife, Robertha Byrd
of Claxton, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Thelma Powell of Lit-
tleton, N. C., and Zelma Woodard of Hagan, Ga.; one
sister, Welthimae Posely of Metter, Ga., and two brothers,
Johnie Byrd of Detroit, Michigan, and F. W. Byrd of Met-
ter, Ga.; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and
a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; nine sisters-in-
law and 8 brothers-in-law.
MINUTES OF GOLD
Two or three minutes two or three hours, what do
they mean in this iife of ours?
Not very much if but counted as time, but minutes
of goid and hours of subtime, if oniy well use them once
in a while to make someone happy make someone smile.
