OBITUARY
Mrs. Bertha M. Bass, the daughter of the late Mr.
Albert and Mrs. Beatrice Lee McKinnon, was born in Mont-
gonnery County, Georgia on February 11, 1911. She
departed this life on Monday, April 19, 1993 at Evans
Memorial Hospital In Claxton after an extended illness.
She joined the Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Bap-
tist Church at an early age, then later became a member
of Hagan Chapel Baptist Church of Hagan, Georgia, where
she served faithfully until her health failed.
She was united in Holy Matrimony in 1934 to the late
Percy Bass, Sr., and to this union seven children were
born!
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Mr.
James Bass, Poughkeepsie, N. Y., Mr. Percy Bass, Jr.,
Savannah, Ga., and Mr. Calvin Bass of Ft. Pierce, Fla.;
three daughters, Ms. Freddie L. Bass, New Rochelle, N.
Y., Mrs. Margaret Jones, Claxton, Ga., and Mrs. Edith
Rowe, New Rochelle, N. Y.; one sister, Mrs. Lula Mae Sim-
mons; two brothers, Mr. Albert McKinnon, and Mr. James
McKinnon, all of Claxton; five sisters-in-law, one brother-
in-law, one great-aunt, Mrs. Christina Hunt, Claxton; 23
grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews,
and others relatives and friends.
