OBITUARY
Thelma Smith Levant was born in Hagan, Georgia on
June 19,1905 to the late Minnie Sapp Tootle. She departed
this life on Tuesday, March 30, 1993 at Evans Memorial
Hospital.
At an early age she joined the Mt. Calvary Missionary
Baptist Church where she served for many years. She later
joined the First African Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn, a loving and devoted husband,
Mr. Clinton Levant, Claxton, Ga.; one niece. Miss Grace
Batts, Claxton, Ga.; six great-nieces. Miss Ann Batts, and
Mrs. Catherine Murphy, Claxton, Ga.; Mrs. Constance
Smith, Brunswick, Ga., Mrs. Cherry Thomas, Maryland,
Mrs. Sarah Robinson, Great Lake, Illinois, and Linda
Wallace, Newington, Ga.; two nephews, Mr. William Batts,
Racine, Wis., and Herbert Wallace, Claxton, Ga.; two
cousins, Mrs. Ida Mae McKinnon of Claxton, Ga., and Mrs.
Everlyn Carey, Augusta, Ga.; two brothers-in-law, five
sisters-in-law, and several relatives and friends.
May He be with you in Spirit
And help your burdens bear,
May He ever find you worthy.
