Obituary
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still
A spot is vacant in our hearts
That can never be filled
Take him in thine arms, dear Lord
And ever let him be,
A messenger of love.

Mr. Joe Thomas Ball was born to the late Theo F. and Beulah H
Ball June 15, 1913.
At an early age, he joined the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church
and was a faithful member until his health began to fail.
He was united in Holy Matrimony on March 19, 1948 to Miss Ella B.
Johnson and to this union four children were born.
He received his early education in Evans County and attended Georgia
State Industrial College, Savannah, GA.
He was a devoted husband and father.
He was a retired farmer and worked with the Green Thumb for several
years.
He had a great love for outdoor life.
He departed this life July 19, 1992 at the Claxton Nursing Home,
Claxton, GA.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mrs. Ella B. Ball;
three sons: Mr. Thomas O. Ball, Mr. Michael Ball, both of Atlanta, Ga
and Mr. Terry Alphonso Ball, Claxton, GA; one daughter: Mrs. Blondell
B. Martin, Claxton, GA; five grandchildren: Johnathan, Jerimy and An|
dre Ball, Christopher Martin, and Bornaza Dunning; two daughters-in-
law: Mrs. Janie Ball, Claxton, GA and Mrs. Jeanette Ball, Atlanta, GA;
son-in-law: Mr. Joseph T. Martin of New York; five sisters: Mrs. Ollie
B. Brown, Mrs. Avis B. Hagan and Mrs. Ovedia B. Simmons, Claxton,
GA, Mrs. Milla Nease Hall, Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Cooper,
Dothan, AL; one brother: Mr. Thaddeus F. Ball, Claxton, GA; four sisters-
in-law: Mrs. Alberta Ball, Claxton, GA, Mrs. Mary J. Lee and Mrs.
Josephine Sapp, Metter, GA and Mrs. Delia J. Smith, Cincinnati, OH;
six brothers-in-law: Rev. Buford Lee, Mr. Walter Sapp, and Mr. Cornell
Johnson, Metter, GA, Mr. Timothy Smith, Cincinnati, OH, Mr. Charles
Hall, Sr., Fitzgerald, GA and Mr. Booker T. Hagan, Claxton, GA; and
a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In this system of things we live in today.
Death is a price we all must pay.
Another soldier gone, sickness and pain no more.
He fought the fight, he kept the faith
And now he will rest in peace until resurrection day.
