OBITUARY
Mr. Johnny Lewis was born to the late Garfield and
Mattie Lewis February 5,1929 in Daisy, Georgia. He was
a former member of the St. Luke Baptist Church. He was
a native of Evans County, but lived in Rahway, N. J. for
45 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from
American Smelting after 30 years.
He was married to the late Elizabeth Richardson
Lewis, who proceeded him in death 6 months ago. He
departed this life Saturday, September 14,1991 at Rahway
State Hospital, after a short illness.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Haywood
and Ronnie Hunt, Scotch Plains, N. J.; one daughter,
Carolyn Dobson, Germany: 2 grandchildren; two brothers,
Lester Lewis, Elizabeth, N. J.; Garfield Lewis, Jr., Brema-
haven, Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Idlett,
Carteret, N. J.; Mrs. Mary Ann Smith, Claxton, Ga., Mrs.
Margo Parson, Atlanta, Ga.; a stepmother, Mrs. Roberta
Lewis, Goldsboro, N. C.; one son-in-law; one uncle; five
aunts; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law;, and a host
of nieces, nephews and friends.
"Id like the memory of me to be a happy one.
Id like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
Id like to leave an echo whispering softiy down the way,
Of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.
Id like the tears of those who grieve today before the sun, oh
happy memories that it leaves when my life is done.
