OBITUARY

Michael Davis Smith was born in Evans County,
Georgia on October 2,1976. He was a member of St. John
Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher
Board and sang in the Youth Choir. He was an A student
at Claxton High School; President of the eight grade class;
a member of the 4-H Club; he earned several first place
awards. Michael earned a football Midget Champion
Trophy in 1989 and he was a past member of the Student
Council. On December 19,1990 Michael departed this life
and left us wondering, why must these things be?
He leaves to cherist his memory, his mother, Mrs. Bet-
ty Jean Smith of Claxton, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Vera M.
Mobley, Statesboro, Ga., Mrs. Angela Brewton, Mrs. Wan-
da Faye Holland, both of Hagan, Ga., and Ms. Lisa Michelle
Smith of Claxton, Ga.; a brother. Minister Frankie Lee
Smith, Ellabell, Ga.; his grandparents, James Smith and
Mrs. Corine Smith of Reidsville, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Mrs.
Michelle Smith, three brothers-in-law, Willie D. Mobley of
Statesboro, Ga., Joseph Holland and Donell Brewton, both
of Claxton, Ga.; four uncles, Tony, Virgil, Sam and Joe
E. Richardson, all of Reidsville, Ga., and Ben Richardson,
of Waycross, Ga.; four aunts, Mrs. Sarah Ann Polk, Mrs.
Effie Mae Williams, Mrs. Rosetta Lee and Mrs. Versie Mae
Sharp, all of Reidsville, Ga.; and a host of cousins and
friends.
For every pain that we must bear
For every sorrow, every care
Theres a reason.
For every grief, for every trial
For every lonely mile
Theres a reason.
But if we trust in Him as we should
All will work out for the good.
God knows the reason why.
