Officiating
Be such a man and live such a life,
that if every man were such as you,
and every life a life like yours,
this earth would be Gods Paradise.
Deacon Harden Ball was born toTheo and Beulah Ball on
May 29, 1921.
At an early age, he joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church.
He was ordained a deacon in February, 1948. He was an
active member of the church and served on the Trustee
Board, the Building Committee and the Finance Committee.
Deacon Ball was very active in community and civic
affairs. He was employed by the Evans County Board of
Education for twenty-two years and was a member of St.
Joseph Lodge #76.
In 1946, he married Alberta Greene and to this union four
children were born; Vivian, Theo (who preceded him in
death), Roland, and Euris.
Harden departed this life on Saturday, December 23,1989
at approximately 9:00 p.m. He leaves a loving family to
cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Alberta Greene Ball;
two daughters, Vivian Randolph and Euris Belle, Atlanta,
Georgia; one son, Roland Ball, Claxton, Georgia; five grand-
children, Dravious Mincey, Claxton, Royal Randolph, III,
Valdesha Ball, Maurice Belleand Brandon Ball, Atlanta;two
brothers, Joe Ball and T. F. Ball, Claxton, Georgia; five
sisters, Ollie Brown, Avis Hagan and Ovedia Simmons, all of
Claxton, Georgia; Mella Neese Hall, Fitzgerald, Georgia, and
Gwendolyn Cooper, Dothan Alabama; four brothers-in-law,
five sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He had a special love for many of the children of Jerusalem
Baptist Church and for his two godchildren, Randy Baker and
LaShanda Holland.
Theres an open gate at the end of the road
Through which each must go alone.
And there in a light we cannot see.
Our Father claims His own.
Beyond the gate. He will find happiness and rest
And there is comfort in the thought
That a loving God knows best.
