OBITUARY
His Soul has gone to God, who giveth. The earth
will claim its own, his body. But he is shouting around the
throne. While we are left to cry alone.
Mr. Johnnie Small was born on February 5, 1914 to
the late Mr. Robert (Bob) and Mrs. Annie Bell W. Small,
in Tattnall County, Georgia. On May 26, 1989 an Angel
of God came to Bulloch Memorial Hospital and quietly took
him from this world of pain and sickness. Now he is resting.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Beatrice B. Small,
to this union one son was born, Mr. Isiah Small. They have
both proceeded him in death. Years later he was married
to Mrs. Rosa Lee C. Small, to this union four children were
born, one has proceeded him in death, Mrs. Melvin
Laurens.
He joined Hagan Chapel Missionary Baptist at an early
age and served faithful as a member and Deacon until the
end. He was a member of Mt. Temah Masonic Lodge
51, Lyons, Georgia where he attained the degree of
Master Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters,
Ms. Gloria Small, Claxton, Georgia, Ms. Lillie Mae Small
and Mrs. Brepda S. Ashley, both of Bronx, N. Y.; one
brother, Mr. Lee Wright, Vonderville, S. C.; seven sisters,
Mrs. Sarah Moore, Mrs. Cora Hagan and Mrs. Laura C.
McKever, all of Claxton, Ga., Mrs. Edna Crawford,
Elizabeth, N. J., Mrs. Ella Oglesby, White Plains, N. Y.,
Mrs. Melvie Small, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Mildred Williams,
Savannah, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Berdell Small,
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; son-in-law, Mr. Luther Laurens, N.
Y. City; a devoted granddaughter, Ms. Carrie P. Martin,
Las Vegas, Nev.; twenty four grandchildren, eleven great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other
relatives and friends.
