OBITUARY
Sunset and Evening Star and one clear
call for me and may there be no
mourning at the bar, when I sail to sea.
Mrs. Jessie Mae Mitchell a native of Evans County. She was
born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Carter, on August 14, 1925.
She departed on March 14,1988.
She was a member of The First African Baptist Church of
Claxton, where she joined at an early age. She married Mr.
Theodore C. Mitchell in the year of 1967. She moved to
Savannah, Georgia. She then joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Chur-
ch where she served faithfully until her illness.
She leaves to mourn a devoted husband Mr. Theodore C.
Mitchell, three sons Mr. Terry Stewart of Portland, Oregon,
Mr. Larry Linwood Carter of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mr.
Derrick A. Carter, of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Ms.
Shirley Ann Frederick of Claxton, Georgia; one sister, Ms.
Ophelia Carter of New Jersey; one daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Brenda Carter of Anchorage, Alaska; five sisters-in-law, Mrs.
Bessie Carter of Claxton, Mrs. Glada Nelson of Chicago,
Illinois, Mrs. Marquita Cokley of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mrs.
Evelyn Blossomgam of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two brothers-in-
law, Mr. Donald P. Mitchell of Benton Harbor, Michigan and
Mr. Edward T. Mitchell of Kalamazoo, Michigan; sixteen grand-
children, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
For our life's just a limit
For when God calls it only takes a minute
Rest in peace and wondering are gone
God has given a brand new home
